Fixing and closing an issue

Tap an issue to open it. The top shows the problem, how serious it is and its state, then where it came from, when it was opened, who is responsible, when it is due, and the photo if there is one. You finish an issue by answering two questions, one at a time.

  1. Step 1, “What did you do about it?”: tap a quick answer (for example fixed on the spot, called maintenance, isolated the products) or type your own. Tap Next.
  2. Step 2, “How did you check it is fixed?”: tap a quick answer (rechecked, or checked by eye) or type your own.
  3. An owner or branch manager taps Close the problem and confirms. A supervisor taps Send for verification, and an owner or branch manager closes it later.

Back returns to step 1.

How do I close an issue that came from a temperature reading?

Section titled “How do I close an issue that came from a temperature reading?”

It is checked only with a new reading. On step 2 tap Take a reading: the reading screen only accepts a value inside the safe range. The good reading is added to the issue by itself, and then the issue can be closed. Any later good reading of that equipment does the same.

On step 2 tap Save and finish later. What you did is saved, the issue moves to In progress, and next time it opens on step 2.

Staff work only on their own issues (reported by them or given to them). They answer step 1 and tap Save and finish later. A supervisor adds the check and a manager closes it. On someone else’s issue the app says: “Only the person working on this issue, or a supervisor, can change it.”

How do I add a root cause or prevention step?

Section titled “How do I add a root cause or prevention step?”

Tap Add root cause or prevention, choose the step type, describe it and tap Save step. Use it when a problem keeps coming back: write why it happened and what will stop it.

Tap Change the due date and choose today, tomorrow, in 3 days or in a week.

Under “What was done” every step is listed with its type, who did it and when. Nothing is ever deleted.

Owners and branch managers open the closed issue, tap Reopen and confirm. It goes back to the open list as Reopened.

Step 1 needs a description of what was done. Closing needs a check (step 2). For a reading issue, take a good reading first. “Add what was done first” and “Add a verification step first” mean the same.

Supervisors send issues for verification. Only owners and branch managers close them.

The issue was removed from this branch, or you switched branch. Go back to the Issues tab.
