Doing a practice inspection walk
Who this page is for: Owner, Branch manager
A walk goes through the branch one area per screen: the file (documents and records), outside and customer area, cooking and service, preparation, cold storage, dry store, cleaning, water, waste and pests, people, transport, and building and facilities. Every answer is kept as you go.
How do I answer a check?
Section titled “How do I answer a check?”Under each check tap Fine, Not fine or Doesn’t apply. An answered check folds to one line; tap it to change the answer. Tap the i on a check to see what is expected, why, how to fix it, what the inspector looks at, and the official source. Checks the app already answered from your records are counted at the top of the area and not asked again.
What do I fill in when a check is Not fine?
Section titled “What do I fill in when a check is Not fine?”Choose what is wrong (each problem shows its level), which fridge or piece of equipment if asked, and the value it reads now if there is a measurement. Add a photo or note if you want. Tick Fixed on the spot if you fixed it right away; it then does not count against the result (not offered in a surprise drill).
How do I move between areas?
Section titled “How do I move between areas?”Tap Next with the area’s name, or the back arrow. Areas shows all areas so you can jump to one. After the last area tap Next: review. “Answer every question first” means a check has no answer, or a Not fine check has no problem chosen.
How do I finish and raise issues?
Section titled “How do I finish and raise issues?”On the review, every problem found is listed under “Raise issues?”. Possible fines and closure risks are ticked; warnings and notices are not; problems fixed on the spot are not raised. Each ticked one becomes an issue: closure risk Critical and due today, possible fine High and due today, warning Medium in 3 days, notice Low in a week. Swipe Swipe to finish.
What does the result show?
Section titled “What does the result show?”The verdict is the most serious level found, not an average: would pass, warnings, likely fine or closure risk. It also shows how many checks passed, what to do now (for example throw away unsafe food), every problem with whether an issue was raised, and the picture area by area. Tap a problem with an issue to open it.
The warning banner says warnings become a fine
Section titled “The warning banner says warnings become a fine”More than 3 warnings in one walk would be turned into a fine by an inspector. Fix one now and tick Fixed on the spot.
Can I stop in the middle?
Section titled “Can I stop in the middle?”Yes. Tap Close. The walk waits on the Now tab under “Inspection in progress”; tap Continue later.
“This inspection is already finished”
Section titled ““This inspection is already finished””It was completed. Tap View result.
Is the score official?
Section titled “Is the score official?”No. The walk’s readiness number is our own estimate. The verdict is what matters, and the authority always decides.
