Getting around the Smart Inspector app
Smart Inspector helps a restaurant keep its food safety records: daily tasks, temperature readings, cleaning, deliveries, problems, documents, training and inspection readiness. It works in English and Arabic, and without internet.
What are the four tabs?
Section titled “What are the four tabs?”- Home: today at a glance, the next task, what to fix first and the latest readings.
- Tasks: today’s food safety tasks. The + records something extra, and the book icon opens Records (cleaning, trips, cooking and cooling).
- Issues: every problem that needs fixing; the red number is how many are open.
- Settings: Receiving, Inspection, Readings, Papers, Training, Team, Branches, Support and the rest. You only see what your role may use.
What is the bell at the top?
Section titled “What is the bell at the top?”The Inbox: reminders whose time has come, such as a task due, a document ending soon, a batch expiring tomorrow, food cooling running late, or a phone that has not synced for 3 days. The red number shows how many you have not seen.
How do I go back?
Section titled “How do I go back?”Tap the back arrow at the top left (top right in Arabic). It shows the name of the screen you will return to.
How do I refresh a screen?
Section titled “How do I refresh a screen?”Pull the list down. You never need to refresh to save: what you record is saved on the phone straight away.
What does the small i icon do?
Section titled “What does the small i icon do?”It explains what a screen or a field is for. From there, Ask about this opens the help assistant with questions about that screen.
How do the swipe buttons work?
Section titled “How do the swipe buttons work?”Important saves use a swipe button at the bottom. Slide it all the way to confirm. It stays grey until everything it needs is filled in; if it is grey, look for a missing value, answer or photo.
I typed something and went back
Section titled “I typed something and went back”The app asks whether to throw it away. Choose to keep editing if you want to stay.
How do I add a photo?
Section titled “How do I add a photo?”Where a photo is allowed, tap to take one with the camera (documents can also come from the gallery), then crop it. Tap a photo to see it full screen. If the camera does not open, allow the app to use the camera in the phone’s settings.
How do I change the language?
Section titled “How do I change the language?”Settings > Language, then English or العربية.
How do I switch branch?
Section titled “How do I switch branch?”If the restaurant has more than one branch, tap the branch name on Home and choose one. Everything you see belongs to the branch you are in.
