Logging a real inspector's visit and preparing for the follow-up

Who this page is for: Owner, Branch manager

When a real inspector visits, log the visit so nothing they found is forgotten. Owners and branch managers open Settings > Inspection, go to the History tab and tap Log an authority visit.

  1. Choose who came (municipality, Food and Drug Administration or other) and the visit date. The inspector’s name is optional.
  2. For each thing they found tap Add an item: search the official checks and pick one, or choose Something else (type it). Choose what the inspector gave (notice, warning, possible fine or closure risk) and tap Add.
  3. If they found nothing, turn on The inspector found nothing.
  4. Choose the follow-up visit date the inspector gave.
  5. Add a photo of the official paper they left, and a note if you want.
  6. Tap Save visit.

“Open an issue for each item” is on by default: every item becomes an issue due by the follow-up date, so the team fixes it in time.

Add at least one item, or turn on The inspector found nothing. A warning also needs the follow-up date the inspector gave.

How do I see when the inspector comes back?

Section titled “How do I see when the inspector comes back?”

Open the visit from the History tab, or from the Now tab while its follow-up is coming. It shows every item with its level, the photo and the countdown: follow-up in some days, tomorrow, today, or “Follow-up date passed” in red.

How do I check before the inspector returns?

Section titled “How do I check before the inspector returns?”

Open the visit and tap Check before the inspector returns. A short walk with only that visit’s items starts. A warning that still fails shows as a possible fine, because at the follow-up a warning that is still there becomes a fine. If you stop, tap Continue the follow-up check later. After the check the visit shows “Follow-up checked”.

It is strongly recommended: the items become issues with due dates, so they are fixed before the inspector returns.
