Inspection: getting ready for the food safety inspector

Who this page is for: Owner, Branch manager

Inspection helps the branch get ready for the municipality or the Food and Drug Administration. Owners and branch managers open it from Settings > Inspection, or by tapping “If inspected today” on Home. It has three tabs: Now, History and File.

The checks come from the official inspection documents: 39 grouped checks with 166 points. Each problem has the level the authority gives: notice, warning, possible fine or closure risk. Which checks apply depends on the branch’s equipment, areas and operations.

On the Now tab tap Start inspection at the bottom and choose:

  • Quick check: only what can cost a fine or a closure, plus anything that failed last time.
  • Full inspection: every check that applies. Checks that passed in the last 7 days are skipped; anything that failed last time is always asked again.
  • One area: one place only.
  • Surprise drill: a short drill now, as if an inspector just arrived.

The sheet shows how many checks to look at on site, how many the app answers from your records, and about how long it takes.

The Now tab shows the “If inspected today” verdict from your records, any walk still in progress (tap Continue), real visits whose follow-up is coming, and problems from your last walk that have no issue yet.

On the History tab: finished walks and real authority visits, newest first. A drill nobody started shows as Missed. Tap one to see its result.

A preview of what an inspection file would contain: readiness by area, documents with their status and photos, cleaning, cooling and trip records of the last 30 days, open issues (tap to go to the Issues tab) and your last practice walk. It is for your own use, not an official report, and cannot be exported yet.

On the History tab tap Log an authority visit.

On the Now tab tap Surprise drills (it shows On or Off).

What is the difference between a walk and “If inspected today”?

Section titled “What is the difference between a walk and “If inspected today”?”

“If inspected today” only judges what your records can prove. A walk is you checking on site what only eyes can see: cleanliness, storage, staff and the building.

No. It shows only the level. The authority always decides.

The authority’s form says more than 3 warnings in one visit become a fine, and the item concerned may be stopped. The app warns you when this happens.

Only owners and branch managers run inspections. Supervisors see “If inspected today” on Home but cannot open Inspection.
